How to Obtain an IECEE Recognition Certificate For Imports Into Saudi Arabia

For some products being imported into Saudi Arabia, a SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate is required instead of a SABER Product Certificate of Conformity.

What is a SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate?

The SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate is a Saudi Arabian conformity initiative set up by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO).  
 
Its aim is to ensure that certain product types have been tested and certified to the required IEC standards by an IECEE Certified Body. 
 
Product documentation is submitted and reviewed by SASO according to the specified requirements and if found to be compliant, a SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate is then issued. 
 
Applications are submitted, reviewed and managed through the MANEH certification system.

How long is a SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate valid for?

You can choose between either 1 year validity or 3 years validity. 3 year validity is at an additional cost.

Which documents are needed to apply for a SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate?

Basic Requirements:

• Full IECEE CB test report (dated within 3 years and to a valid standard). 

• Full IECEE CB certificate (dated within 3 years and to a valid standard). 

• Arabic language user-manual. 

• Manufacturer ROHS test report or declaration. 

• Manufacturer declaration of conformity 

• Full product photo (un-packaged). 

• Product direct marking label/nameplate photo + all other markings on the product. 

If a plug/power cord is provided:

• Test report for the plug/power cord to standard SASO 2203:2018 issued by an ISO 17025-accredited laboratory. 

• Photos of the plug/power cord showing the full product and all markings. 

If a charger is provided:

• Full IECEE CB test report for the charger (dated within 3 years and to a valid standard). 

• Full IECEE CB certificate for the charger (dated within 3 years and to a valid standard). 

• Photos of the charger showing the full product and all markings. 

If the item has a SIM card slot:

• Saudi Communications & Information Technology Commission (CITC) certificate must be provided for the product.
